(More customer reviews)I have a heavy beard & have been shaving for 55 years. Spent many hundreds of dollars on electric shavers, only to be disappointed and forced to return to blades. Therefore I am shocked that, after a month's use, I am completely pleased with the 1280X and am throwing out all the blades, shaving cream, etc. Thank you Philips, thank you.

I shave dry for about 6 minutes (including using the trimmer) and then take the 1280X into the shower with me in case I discover I missed a spot.
Cleanup couldn't be easier.
I have no problem with packing the charging stand in my checked luggage for trips longer than a week. The shaver itself goes on board the plane with me. How nice to be able to shave just before an 8-hour flight ends! The shaver is so quiet no one notices it.
In fact it's so quiet, it's not even noticeable above the sound of a bathroom fan.
The $63 cost to replace the heads once a year doesn't bother me.
It's exciting when someone finally gets it right!
