(More customer reviews)I have a tradition, every time I get a new job, I buy a new shaver. For many years this meant getting a new shaver every 5 or 6 years, then every 3 or 4 years, now it's every 2 to 2 and a half years. At this point, I have a lot of shavers! I got the Remington about 6 months ago. I guess all of them are made in China now, but this one has "Made in China" prominently stamped on the charger plug. It's as if you should consider this your guarantee of quality. I don't know about you, but this doesn't work for me. Chinese goods are a mixed bag, at best. It doesn't even have "Remington" hot stamped into the plastic plug, like virtually all of my previous Remingtons.
So here's my review. This model is by far the cheapest feeling Remington I have ever had. It also seems to run significantly slower. The shave is fair to poor. It's a gentle shave, but it is not a close shave at all. You have to go over and over and over to get most, but not all of your facial hair. It's cheezy looking and has a similar feel to it. The late Victor Kiam who used to own Remington, with great pride, would have never put this shaver on the market. There are better Remingtons out there and infinitely better Panasonic shavers out there. For this price point, you can do way better. For a few more bucks you could get a Panasonic that blows this one away. More recently I got the Panasonic ES8103S Pro-Curve Wet/Dry for $90 and it is more than twice the shaver than this one.
My advice, look around, read the reviews, get another brand. Remington is just not what it used to be with respect to both quality and performance.
