(More customer reviews)I don't find that this product gives me a better shave, when I apply it before shaving cream or gel. It has an unpleasant smell too.
If you properly prepare your face for shaving by washing it with a facial cleaner then applying hot water via the "hot towel" approach for several minutes, that should be sufficient. That's working for me, at least.
FWIW I have a pretty coarse beard and sensitive skin. I use a "DE" (double edge) safety razor.

I apply some of this shaving oil under my Bald Guyz Shave Gel
and get a very good shave, free from irritation and smooth!!
I would highly recommend this product if you have sensitive skin.
I think you will like it.
From my experience, this product will give you the best results if
used under you shaving gel/cream. The shaving oil will let your razor
glide easily and offer lots of protection.
The shaving cream/gel can then be put on top of the oil as "extra" protection.

(More customer reviews)I've been hearing more and more about using shaving oils, but I was skeptical, thinking it was just another hype being force-fed to the buying public. But, on a whim I decided to get a bottle, folllowed the directions.....and I don't think I'll ever use another shave gel or cream ever again! My face has never felt smoother, it is very easy to trim around beards/moustaches, no lather to clean up after, and my face feels smooth all day long. I have a course beard, it's odd not feeling any "5 o'clock shadow" at the end of the day. I'll not be using anything else to shave with ever again.

(More customer reviews)First, they say just wet your face, and massage in three drops of the oil, period. That is it, and I got an incredible shave. Even problem areas like my chin I didn't have to keep shaving over. I have whiskers that are like steel bristles, and the blade just cut them like a hot knife through butter. You don't have to keep reapplying it, just keep the razor wet. Don't have to wash it off after, just towel dry your face. I use a safety razor, and have used shaving cream, shaving gels, and soaps. I've been shaving over 34 years, so I used allot of products to say this is the winner. I originally brought it as a pre shave, I had surgery on my jaw, and part of my chin there is no sensation so I have to be careful shaving. I have tried using baby oil, or glycerin and water as a pre shave, didn't work that well. Also I had a oily film in the sink that I had to clean up. Not with Shave Secret, I just rinsed the sink. So that little over priced bottle will last quiet awhile just using three drops per shave. I am still set in my ways being old, so I put the drops on a badger brush and rubbed it on my face. I only wish I could find out exactly what is in it so I can make a gallon and save some money.

(More customer reviews)I like how it works, but I should have checked other prices, before I bought it. Oster sells a premium 4 OZ bottle of lubricant for Less than $10. That is 3.75 ouces more then this product. The only thing I like about this is it's packaging. It allows you to easily control how much oil you use. When I first got the product I was happy with it, but not so much anymore. Like the last reviewer said Oil is oil.
It does it's job, but the price is way to high. The price is to high for what they give you. I will save the bottle & next time buy the oster premium oil & just fill up this bottle up 12 X. Yes you read that right. Oster gives you 11 X more oil for just $4 more then this oil
