I was prepared that the foil probably wouldn't have the same hole pattern based on a review I saw for another second-source foil set. But what didn't occur to me was the possibility that the actual holes in the foil would be of a smaller diameter than my original foil, and that is the main problem I have with this set.
I think I have pretty coarse beard hair, so what this means to me is that I have to go over the same area again and again and again before some of the hairs find their way through the smaller foil holes to be cut. It definitely takes a lot longer now to complete my shave, and I also have to do it in front of the mirror so I can see the hairs that are constantly being missed instead of being able to walk around and shave.
It's too bad because I really wanted to like this foil set and continue using this razor. Instead of now buying Braun's replacement foil set, I think I'll just be looking to upgrade to a different razor. And when it comes time to replace the cutter and foil on that razor, I'll definitely buy the manufacturer's replacement.
